This isn't a political blog, at least not really. I intended to use this platform mostly to rant about things that don't really matter to anyone outside of the all-important 40-45-year-old internet weirdo demographic. But I don't know how I can look at what's happening outside my window or on my screen and not say something.

Before I go any further: Any comments that are less than spirited agreement with this post will be removed and the posters banned. Them's the rules. Don't like it? Close that tab, baby, and go find someone else to read on the toilet, my blogs ain't for you.

It's pretty simple. The federal agency known as Immigration and Customs Enforcement is ontologically evil and must be abolished. Its employees must be held accountable, with lengthy prison time at minimum. Every politician who voted to give them more money should be removed from office and charged with treason. Yes, this includes Democrats. If anything, we should start with them: we know what the Republicans stand for, but Dems are supposed to fucking know better.

"Supposed to." What rot. We know who they really serve.

And finally, everyone who supports ICE, everyone who defends their actions, everyone who ever tried to equivocate on ICE or police executing people in the street, everyone who ever so much as laugh-reacted a Facebook post pleading for peace and justice, should be ostracized from society. We have learned the hard way that we are surrounded by monsters. They aren't just the maladjusted pervert who stared at your tits in high school. They are our doctors, our mechanics, our relatives, our friends and neighbors. When the Ku Klux Klan was at its height, they kept their membership secret with the hooded robes because they didn't want their neighbors to know that the Klan was full of policemen, teachers, politicians. Now we can go on social media and see these same people sign their name to the most heinous white power bullshit you've ever seen in your life. None of them must go unpunished. None of them must see this grim era pass by without facing an accounting for what they are: soulless ghouls, mere vessels for bottomless hate. They must lose access to families, they must lose their jobs, they must be stripped of their positions, their status, their wealth, anything that gives them power over others, because they cannot be trusted with it. Ideally they should be investigated for sexual crimes, too.

I say all this because we've reached an inflection point. It's here that we decide what kind of world we want to live in. Do we want to live in a kingdom of monsters, forever subject to their whims? Or do we finally stop telling ourselves we can vote our way out of this, and face reality?

I don't need to do the whole shpiel about how to fight ICE. There's lots of ways to do it, not all of them involve going out into sub-zero weather to protest. Nothing I've said here is anything you can't find someone else saying on Bluesky, either. I'm just one voice in a chorus of thousands. You probably find this post pretty insufferable, and I get it, people have been saying shit like this since 2016. But it really does come down to one thing: you either see what's happening as the moral and social ruin that it is, or you're a wretched creature who will never see redemption.
